The World:
The City of Neo-Edo:
- The main location explored in Part 0 and Ferris' hometown. The Capital City of a much larger nation ruled by an Emperor. The City is split into four Quarters, the Argricultural Quarter, the Commoner's Quarter, the Merchant's Quarter and finally the Aristocratic Quarter. The city welcomes in people of many species and background.
Agricultural Quarter (Neo-Edo):
- The area surrounding the main body of the city, where the farmland that produces the neccesary food for the residents of the city to eat. Due to the amount of labour necceasyr for the platning and harvesting of crops, this quarter provides a large amount of employment for the city. Largely a series of interconnected farms.
Commoner's Quarter (Neo-Edo):
- The main residential area of the city, where most of the population live, work and make money. The building are made to be simple and functional and unadorned. There is a strong culture of collaboration between reidents of this quarter. Also contains the city slums, which spread from the west edge of the city.
Merchant's Quarter (Neo-Edo):
- The central 'market district', where most merchants do business. To accomoadte these sales-people there is a moderately large residential side to this quarter. Ferris lives here with her family. The markets form a ring around the residential section, allowing maximum area for sales whilst also maximising the area for housing.

Aristocratic Quarter (Neo-Edo):
- The 'administrative district' where those with mony and status, such as dignitaries, noblemen and the Emperor conduct business and run the nation. Grand and opulent, only those recognised by the aristocracy can enter the city, though people still try. Some say it feels like a totally different city than the rest of Neo-Edo.
The White Manor (Neo-Edo):
- A large building of foreign make on the outskirts of the Commoner's Quarter. This is the residence of the gril dubbed 'The Professor' as well as her twin maids. Disliked by the general population of the city, due both to it's size and clashing against every other building in the city. It is incredibly comfortable though.
The Oribital Cottontail (Neo-Edo):
- A largely inconspicuous building in the Commoner's Quarter that actually houses a spatial bar and 'day-club' as well as acting as a home for a family of eleven. Thanks to their unique techonology, the bar is completely soundproofed allowing family life to exist alongside their business. Where Ferris' friend Luna lives.
Himura Fashion (Neo-Edo):
- The home of Ferris Himura and where her Mother and Father run their handmade clothing buisness. The ground floor is mainly a living space a communal eating space and bedrooms, and the first floor is reserved for the business and storage. This was done to allow Ferris' father to get good views of the city whilst working.
The Summer Palace (Neo-Edo):

- The Residence of Fifth Imperial Princess Seraphine and the only section of the Aristocratic Quarter open to the public. Was largely used as a punishment to get the princess out of the main Imeperial Palace. Far less ornate thatn other building in the district, though still far more than what one could normally afford.
The Outskirts of Neo-Edo:
Shirayama Mountain:
- A fairly large mountain covered in a bamboo forest that sits next to Neo-Edo. It is considered a place of great spiritual significance. The Shirayama Shrine sits on top of this mountain. Rumour has it that deep in the forest, people tend to get lost, unable to find their way home, so people typically walk the beaten path.
Shirayama Shrine:
- At the top of the mountain sits the largest shrine near Neo-Edo, a hub of Spiritual Significance. Whilst typically full to bursting with Miko and visitors, after the disappearence of Lady Shirayama, only Yukina still lives there. Under official ruling it is still techinically part of the city, though it sits outside of it.
Lake Mizue:

- An the west side of the Shirayama Mountain lies a huge lake that supplies the fresh water to the city of Neo-Edo via feeding a river that runs past the city. A popular fishing spot though in recent times less and less fish have been appearing. Rumour suggests this may have something to do with the disappearence of Lady Shirayama.
The Spiritual Realm:
Fractal Void - Logic Undone:
- A Spiritual Distortion found deep within Shirayama Forest, this red and blue space is filled with large unidentified creeatures seeming floating around aimlessly within the void. Said to be manifestations of 'Kami' they appear to absorb energy from the outside world to sustain their aimless existence. Contains many odd objects.
Starlit Towers - Metropolis Intergalactic:
- A Spiritual Distortion found between the Commoner's and Merchant's Quarters in Neo-Edo. This night sky realm contains a seemingly endless number of inverted towers blnketed in a unreal number of stars and celestial bodies. These towers seem to mimic building, though no buildings present within Neo-Edo.

Other:
The Moon Weeping Stars:
- An odd phenomena, on cloudless nights a bizaree twinkling can be seen below the moon when gazing at it directly. In some ways it appears as if the moon is an eye and the twinkling of the lights stars that the moon is crying. It's been that way for as long as anyone can remember.
Species:
Physical Realm:
Kitsune:
- Humanoid species with the characteristics of a fox. Said to be descended from mythical Kyuubi said to live in the spiritual realm, this is due to their larger than average capacity for spiritual ability. They take great pride in their appearence, especially in the upkeep of their tails, it is considered polite to keep it clean.
Lunarian:
- Humanoid species with the characteristics of a Hare. whilst they originated on the planet, they left to colonise the moon hundreds of years ago. Due to this speraeration from the spirtual nature of earth, they cannot develop any kind of spiritual powers. However, they have developed inredibly advanced techonology to compensate.
Tengu:
- Spiritual beings that can cross between both realms, as they have a physical form. A society ruled through a defined hierarchy of strength that is imprinted on their very cells. The possess the charactertistics of crow/ravens when in physical form, and can fly with their pitch black wings, but otherwise look like regular humans.
Nekomata:
- Humanoid species with the characteristics of a cat. Sometimes they can be born with two tails, these individuals typically have a high connection to the spiritual realm. They are treted as good omens. Nekomata with black hair are treated as bad omens and those with two tails, even more so, to the point they are ostracised from society.
Ningyo:
- Humanoid species with the characteristics of fish. They are capable of breathing under the water and in air. They descend from the now mythical mermaids that used to interact regualrly with humans, but were hunted for their youth-granting flesh. Their descendants are therefore rare and typically hide from others.
Inugami:
- Humanoid species with the characteristics of a dog. Said to be descended from the highest of spirits, the legendary Ookami. Though they have limited spiritual connection overall. Form highly social groups, to the point where if they don't possess enough connection to others they can develop very strong loneliness.
Usagi:

- Humanoid species with the characteristics of a rabbit. Though folklore suggests they came form the moon to earth, this is not true. In fact a tribe of Usagi colonised the moon in the distant past. Highly intorverted, Usagi typically avoid big cities and areas with large numbers of people, focusing on smaller groups of individuals.
Humans:
- Humanoid species with the characteristics of a great ape. Folklore states they are most closely descended to the Kami that built the world. Seemingly average in terms of potential, they neither excel nor struggle with spiritual ability. Humans are actually the outlier species with ears on the side of their heads, how very bizarre.
Spiritual Realm (Yo-Kai):

Tsukumogami (Object Yo-Kai):
- When an object that was previosuly loved is abandoned for enough time the spirtual connection it has begins to erode, it becomes vulnerable to possession by spirits. These objects brought to life, have no regard for values or society and so will wreak havoc indiscriminately. Easy to exorcise for one with spiritual ability.
Kasa-Obake (Living Umbrella):
- A spritual being that can take the form of an umbrella or parasol when passing into the physical realm. Unlike a Tsukumogami, this umbrella is not an object from the physical realm but a form the spirit takes. This form is an exceptional conduit for spritual power, amplifying a users abilities several-fold. They possess only one eye.
Iki-Ningyo (Living Doll):
- A form of more advanced Tsukomogami, in which the spirit in attempting to possess an object with humanoid characteristics requires more ability to become one with the object. As a result, only stronger spirits will possess dolls and the like. Though these spirits are not strong enough to create their own destinct physical forms normally.
